We have a team of staff who are specially trained to deal with safeguarding.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) are Mrs G Rannard and Mrs C Murphy Worrell
Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSLs) are; Mrs P Allen, Mr J Duffy, Mrs L Howe, Mrs J McKean and Ms C Bowers
Any causes for concern regarding safety of students from Years 7-13 should be passed on to one of these members of staff immediately.
Parents are reminded that the school has a duty to refer a Child to Sefton Children’s Services if there is a Safeguarding concern about a child. Parents and Carers will always be contacted to discuss this matter prior to referral.
Resources
Childline has some helpful resources for both parents and students; Report Remove is here to help young people under 18 in the UK to confidentially report sexual images and videos of themselves and remove them from the internet.
Shore
Shore was launched in 2023 to provide a safe and anonymous place for young people to get help and support. The aim of this website is to prevent harmful sexual behaviours among young people.
It’s for anyone who:
- has questions about healthy sexual relationships
- wants to change their own behaviour
- is looking for reliable information to help them respond to someone else’s behaviour
Shore is part of The Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a charity working to prevent all forms of child sexual abuse.
Kooth is a transformational digital mental health support service. It gives young people access to a community of peers and a team of experienced counsellors until 10pm every day.
