Chesterfield High School Combined Cadet Force (CCF)

The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) has become an important part of life at Chesterfield High School, providing students with opportunities to develop leadership, self-discipline, teamwork, confidence, and resilience. We offer a fast range of challenging and rewarding activities, cadets are encouraged to reach their full potential while building lasting friendships and valuable life skills.

Parade sessions take place every Wednesday from 1500–1700 hours during term time.

During these sessions, cadets have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities, including but not limited to:

  • First Aid Training
  • Leadership and Team-Building Exercises
  • Fieldcraft
  • Navigation and Map Reading
  • Radio Communications
  • Drill and Ceremonial Training
  • Adventure Training
  • Physical Training
  • Citizenship and Community Engagement Activities

In addition to weekly training, cadets may have the opportunity to attend a range of camps, courses, and residential activities throughout the year, including but not limited to:

  • Climbing
  • Archery
  • Orienteering
  • Field Exercises
  • Adventure Training Expeditions
  • Team-Building Activities
  • Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Opportunities
  • Visits to Military Establishments

If you would like to join the CCF, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 13 years of age.
  • Be in Year 8 or above.
  • Attend a recruitment session.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to the values of the CCF.

The CCF offers a unique opportunity for students to challenge themselves, gain nationally recognised qualifications and awards, and develop skills that will benefit them throughout their education and future careers.
