On Saturday 29th February, 20 of our Year 10 and Year 11 students pulled off a fantastic evening at their “pop up” restaurant Une Bonne Journee. The evening was a culmination of weeks of hard work by both students and staff in a project led by Celebrity Chef, Mark Lloyd and his School Diners project.
The students were given their surprise menu in the morning and subsequently produced a delicious feast of Superfood salad, Butternut Squash risotto with Chicken Saltimbocca and sage oil followed by a dessert of chocolate brownie with cherry compote and ice cream.
‘Une Bonne Journee’ catered for 100 guests including staff, governors, parents and sponsors, who were all very impressed with the ambience created and the quality of the food and service offered by our students.
Over £1500 was raised by donations, raffles, cake sales and contributions for the food and service on the evening. A fabulous effort by everyone! The money raised will be going to a range of charities selected by the students.
A huge thank you to all our sponsors and for the donations and support for this event. The personal outcomes for our students were amazing!
