WHAT CAREER LIVE?
On Friday 22nd March Year 12 attended the What Career Live Exhibition at the ACC Liverpool. The event provided the opportunity for students to meet with Apprenticeship Providers and a number of Universities. It also hosted seminars on Degree Apprenticeships: the new alternative and How to Choose the Right Career Path KickStart Careers. The visit was intended to make students think about their next steps and for them to explore some of the options that are available to them.
All Year 13 have been emailed a copy of when there are Intervention Opportunities available. The majority of this support occurs during the school day and students are encouraged to attend as many as possible.
Once again the school will be open on Saturdays leading up to the external examinations. Years 10, 11 and 13 students are encouraged to come in and use the facilities and resources available to support their preparation. Pupils attending Saturday School should enter the building via the external doors to T4 where they are required to sign in.
100 DAY PLAN
Thank you to all the Year 13 Parents who attended on Thursday. As the A Level Examinations are now only 4 months away, this was a great opportunity to understand the specific academic demands that students in the 6th Form are currently facing. To support the Key Stage 5 students, members of staff have spent time putting together a 100 Day plan that describes the subject tasks students should be completing on a daily basis. A copy of this is available via the link below:
Those students who have now received all of their offers should be responding via UCAS and acknowledging their preferred choices. Alternatively the students who have not gone through this process will have access to the School’s Career Connect Adviser and will be invited along to a Careers Fair next half term.
It is encouraging to learn about the Year 12 Students who have applied for Summer School at some of the top Universities in the country. It is an ideal time for all of Year 12 to start to reflect on their post 18 options and to research the courses on offer and the grade expectations. we will be organising a trip to the UCAS Event held in Liverpool in June to assist all pupils with this process.
Students who have not applied for University have been reminded to seek out the apprenticeship opportunities that are available via the Government’s Website . The school will be supporting these students by organising events and assessment days to them attend.
