Key Stage 3 News

The theme for this week’s assembly was LGBT History month, making students aware of famous and influential people both within history and present day who are members of the LGBT community. We also talked about personal geographies which are spaces we spend most of our time in and how people from the LGBT community can sometimes feel alone and unsupported in some areas. We discussed how if students became aware of students feeling alone or unsupported, especially LGBT, they must speak out and tell someone.

Students have also been completing end of half term assessments this week. Following the recent assessments in October and December, a number of set changes have been made in English and Maths. Parents will be contacted by staff if their child will be moving sets after half-term.

We have had a big push on 100% Classroom expectations this week. This includes checking student uniform and equipment. During half term, can you please ensure that if your child is missing any piece of equipment or uniform that it is replaced ready for school the week after.

We return after half term on Monday 25th February 8.30am. This will be a B week.
