VISIT BY NEUROLOGIST PROFESSOR TOM SOLOMON

Prof Tom Solomon BA BM BCh MRCP DCH DTMH PhD FRCP
Director of the Institute of Infection and Global Health; Head of the Brain Infections Group; Professor of Neurological Science; Honorary Consultant Neurologist, Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

On Monday we were delighted to welcome Professor Tom Solomon from The University of Liverpool who delivered a presentation on Neurology to Science students from Years 9 through to Year 12.  An Oxford University Graduate himself Tom talked about his specialism and engaged pupils by actively getting them involved. The hour was informative and equally enjoyable; it is hoped that the experience has helped to broaden the horizons of those students wishing to pursue a career in science. For the six Year 11 pupils who intend to study Medicine at University they were able to stay behind to get some sound advice and even managed to secure an invitation to the Laboratories at the University.
