Wednesday 21st November was the annual South Sefton netball tournament for the u18s and u16s at Merchant Taylors.
For the year 13s, it was the last chance to play together in a team that has done unbelievably, winning leagues and tournaments all the way through school together since year 7. They were joined in their team by some talented year 12s who themselves are the Sefton tournament winners last year when they were in year 11.
The girls’ play was fantastic and they really jelled as team winner all their games against Merchant Taylors 7-4, Sacred Heart 9-5 and St. Mary’s 15-4. They were crowned South Sefton U18s tournament winners!
The u16s who also are the current Sefton tournament winners from last year played some amazing netball. The girls won their group beating Maghull 7-1, Merchants 9-4 and Maricourt 5-4. They then played Sacred Heart in the repeat semi-final from last year. The match was neck and neck, with plenty of chances to go on and win the game but they couldn’t finished them off and it finished 2-2 at the end of normal time. It went to extra time where the girls unfortunately lost 1-0 and just missed out on the final.
Well done to all the girls; they gave their all every game and as ever did themselves and the school proud.
